What is QTalk ?

QTalk combines speaking icons with written words in a language learning method. Students learn to associate an icon with a spoken word or group of words. Arranged in a specific order, these icons immediately prompt learners to form complete and well-structured sentences without having to resort to thinking in their native language.

With QTalk, students are active in their learning process. The icons turn them into linguistic architects and helps them remember what they have learned. Over time, learners become comfortable with the language because the icons guide them through the grammatical structure of the sentence. As they gain confidence, they become progressively independent of the icons in speaking and writing.

QTalk emphasizes high-frequency everyday words. Beginners can thus immediately apply their language skills outside the classroom. For advanced learners, icons are effectively multidimensional: each one of them corresponds to a single word or a whole sentence or can trigger different levels of speech. An icon leads learners to handle different grammatical concepts, such as tenses. As a result, they feel confident to be creative with the language.

QTalk offers three series of books: Sprout / Sapling / Tree.

Each series targets the four language skills (oral production, listening comprehension, written production and reading comprehension). Each book features an image dictionary for easy reference. Each series is suitable for beginners.

The series differ in terms of vocabulary, sentence structures and number of grammatical concepts.

To each series corresponds a set of flashcards featuring all of the images presented in the books.
